But of course, it’s not all bad, you’ll also be reaping the benefits of a fiercely loyal companion who loves nothing more than being in your arms or on your lap. If your Yorkie is picky with food, you might find yourself looking for new things to offer them, and if they have bad teeth, you might be wondering if there are any snacks or chews that could help. So, what about carrots? Can Yorkies eat carrots?

It’s also worth remembering that mashed potato, roast potatoes, and other potato dishes often contain lots of fat and dairy, both of which could cause your dog to have vomiting or diarrhea.

Your Yorkie can eat sweetcorn, as long as you don’t give them the corn cob. Just like potatoes, corn is very high in carbohydrates so we don’t recommend feeding corn on a consistent basis either. Corn cobs can easily cause a blockage in your dog’s gut if swallowed, which would mean emergency surgery to remove it. For this reason, you should always make sure corn cobs are placed in the trash and the trash is kept out of reach of your dogs. Dogs can’t digest corn kernels very easily, so it’s quite normal to see them in your dog’s poop.
